{"id":11644,"date":"2019-09-02T17:55:51","date_gmt":"2019-09-02T12:25:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aqi.in\/blog\/cse-states-delhi-needs-cut-pollution-levels-65-meet-air-quality-standards\/"},"modified":"2019-09-02T17:55:51","modified_gmt":"2019-09-02T12:25:51","slug":"cse-states-delhi-needs-cut-pollution-levels-65-meet-air-quality-standards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aqi.in\/blog\/en-in\/cse-states-delhi-needs-cut-pollution-levels-65-meet-air-quality-standards\/","title":{"rendered":"CSE States That Delhi Needs To Cut Down Pollution Levels By 65% to Meet Air Quality Standards"},"content":{"rendered":"<section aria-label=\"Page 1\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;\">Based on the air quality data recorded by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the CSE (Centre for Science and Environment) has stated that Delhi is under the challenging task of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aqi.in\/blog\/air-quality-app-is-a-great-way-to-check-air-quality\/\"><strong>reducing the city&#8217;s pollution levels<\/strong><\/a><\/span> by 65 percent to make the Air Quality Standards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;\">The CPCB data has revealed that the three-year average of PM 2.5 levels during 201602018 was lower than that of 2011-2014 but around 25%. However, the CSE has cautioned that even after the constant reduction and stabilization, Delhi has been <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aqi.in\/blog\/air-pollution-is-now-reducing-life-expectancy-by-18-years\/\"><strong>facing poor air quality standards<\/strong><\/a><\/span> throughout the year. New reports have stated that the baseline for PM 2.5 will only be achieved if a 65% reduction in Air Pollution can be made.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;\">The CSE also stated that after the initiation of a comprehensive, planned clean air action plan there has been a graded response towards <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aqi.in\/blog\/effects-of-nitrogen-dioxide-can-be-seen-in-indias-6-major-metro-cities\/\"><strong>stabilization of the city&#8217;s air<\/strong><\/a><\/span>. There are definitely more clean air days than bad ones and there has been a make-shift in the patter of smog episodes in the last few years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;\">Tightening of industrial pollution norms and reshaping how industrial fuels, pet coke, and furnace oil and coal are handled have also helped in the stabilization at multi-sector state. The CSE listed the number of coal power plants that have been shut down and the actions that have been taken into consideration when brick kilns and other <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aqi.in\/blog\/analysis-of-air-pollution-and-indian-cities\/\"><strong>pollution hotspots<\/strong><\/a><\/span> are to be discussed. There&#8217;s also a pact that places undergoing construction must follow.
